We offer giclee printing up to 24" wide by 9 feet long. Most artists prefer a border on their work, a minimum of one inch for matting, making the effective maximum image size 22 inches. Prints can be reproduced on a variety of fine art papers, in both roll and sheet form. Samples of papers are available in our studio.
We can work from an image on film or a digital image supplied on disk. In the case of film, we will need to scan the film to produce a digital file. If you need to have a piece copied in order to be reproduced, see the section on Copy work below.
Unless you are confident that the digital file you supply is color-ready for our printer, we strongly urge you to go through the proofing process to assure the final print will be satisfactory to you. Computer screens are all different, and what you see on yours may not be what we see on ours, which are set up to work with our printers. Proofing can take time, so be prepared to give us plenty of lead time. Rush orders accepted with and added premium.
One thing to note, the pigment inks used in the Giclee process, or in any printing process, do not have the color gamut (range) that can be produced using conventional artist mediums, such as oils, acrylic and even pastels. In other words, it is rare to get an exact match to the original. By going through the proofing process, you will see what the final print will look like and approve it. The final print will be a museum-quality archival print.
PRICING
Set-up and proofing:
For a print run, whether one print or 100 prints, we charge a $25.00 set-up fee for images larger than 16 x 20 inches. This fee is waived if you go through the "hard" proof process. Hard proofing costs $50.00 per image for images larger than 16 x 20 inches tthat are taken by us. For images that you supply the fee is $95.00. For images up to that size we charge $25.00 for images we take, and $45.00 for images you supply.
In this process, we make a set of three small prints on the media you select, each with a slightly different interpretation. From that, we fine-tune the color and repeat the process until you sign off on a single proof image. Once an image is finalized, we save it and no further proofing is required. The proof process is set up to go to the media you select. Changing media after a proof is finalized may result in a different appearance.
If you wish to bypass the hard proofing, files sent to us for printing will be printed as is, but we will not be responsible for the final outcome. We also offer a "soft" proofing, in which you sit down with us at our computer and together we color correct the print on our computer screen to the way you want it. The fee for this is $75.00 per hour, billed to the quarter hour. Although we may be able to work with several prints in a short time, it is not as accurate as working with a hard proof.

About Giclee Printing
Giclee (zhee-klay) - The French word "giclée" is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid.
The term "giclee print" connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.
Our giclee prints are created using professional Epson 4880 and Epson 7600 Professional ink-jet printer. This modern technology printer is capable of producing incredibly detailed prints for both the fine art and photographic markets. Giclee prints are sometimes mistakenly referred to as Iris prints, which are 4-Color ink-jet prints from a printer pioneered in the late 1970s by Iris Graphics.
Giclee prints are advantageous to artists who do not find it feasible to mass produce their work, but want to reproduce their art as needed, or on-demand. Once an image is digitally archived, additional reproductions can be made with minimal effort. The prohibitive up-front cost of mass production for an edition is eliminated. Archived files will not deteriorate in quality as negatives and film inherently do. Another tremendous advantage of giclee printing is that digital images can be reproduced to almost any size and onto various media, giving the artist the ability to customize prints for a specific client.
The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.

Video profiles are a tool to assist you in promoting yourself. Most videos run three to five minutes in length but can be longer if specific scenes are required. These are useful in sending out to potential clients, or for running in kiosk presentation at a gallery event. Or, they can be posted to a web site.
A typical video profile would include an introduction by yourself, filmed in our studio. We strongly urge you to prepare a script and that has been rehearsed to reduce the time in the studio. We can help you prepare a script. The introduction is followed by scenes of you at work or a showcase of your work, with a voiceover of you discussing your art. Testimonials and endorsements are optional, but we feel they enhance the presentation. Samples available on request.
When the basic video is put together, we will need you to come in to our studio to review it for any changes, or to sign off on production.
